Nebraska Cornhuskers

Welcome to our new web site ‘HuskersLive’. Our goal is to find as many Husker stories as humanly possible about the Nebraska Cornhuskers. We know most Husker fans just can’t get enough information about our team and we want to be your one stop shop for football news.

Well the regular season is over and my prediction of an 8-4 season was spot on.  Of course Nebraska didn’t get there the way I thought they would, but they did finish 8-4.  I would have to say I am pretty happy with the finish and think it was a successful first season for Bo and the boys.  The defense is still not what it should be but a big improvement nonetheless.  The offense was much better than I thought it would be.  They still shoot themselves in the foot to much and put the defense in bad situations, but I still like what I see as an overall piece of work.

Now we have Clemson on the plate and how a team that finished 7-5 gets a New Years Day bowl game I’m not sure.  I guess you would have to say this is how bad the ACC is.  Clemson certainly is a good team with what looks like on paper great talent.  As usual there were very high expectations put on the Tigers and once again they folded like a cheap suit.  No college does less with more than the Clemson Tigers.  They did turn it around coming down the stretch with a new coach and they most certainly have more talent than Nebraska.  The question is which team will show up to play the Huskers.  You could probably say the same thing for Nebraska, because they seem to really lose focus at times.

Enough of the BS and lets get to the predictions.  I think we will get a high scoring game and that is nothing new.  I think offenses really struggle with long layoffs and defenses really have the advantage of looking at plenty of film.  Although I think Clemson is more talented and probably bordering on much more talented, I am going to pick the Huskers to win.  Clemson has a two-quarterback rotation and that basically means you don’t have any quarterbacks.  I will go with the senior leader here, Joe Ganz, to lead the Cornhuskers to a 38 to 34 victory to avenge the 1981 loss to the Tigers.

You can see the preseason predictions on the “Nebraska’s Schedule" page.
